The Former National Education Minister Kemal Dürüst, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Kıbrıs Health and Social Sciences University, and his wife Merya Dürüst, Director of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, have been arrested following the fake diploma investigation.
Kemal Dürüst, one of the arrested suspects, was tried this morning in Güzelyurt (Morphou) for “Issuing a fake document, putting a fake document into circulation, obtaining fraudulent money, and inciting the issuance of a fake document”, while his wife was tried in Lefkoşa (Nicosia) for the crimes of inciting the issuance of a fake document and putting fake official documents into circulation.
