A mobile game has been designed within the scope of the ‘Green Bracelet Project’ for kids to protect the environment in a fun way.

The Green Bracelet Project, financed by the European Union and carried out by the Gazimağusa (Famagusta) Cultural Association, aims to increase the environmental literacy level of students by creating and implementing sustainable environmental education models and mechanisms.

The educational mobile game EcoHero was designed in this context. The EcoHero games designed for primary and secondary school children, is both entertaining and instructive for children with its educational and environmentally friendly approach.

The main purpose of the game is to teach children the behavior of keeping the environment clean, to support them in developing attitudes towards protecting the environment, and to give information about different types of waste. Additionally, informative question boxes containing questions that improve environmental literacy levels were integrated into the game.

According to the statement, in the game EcoHero, players choose one of the characters named “Ravelin”, “Othello”, “Salamis” and “Desdemona” and become heroes by saving the Gazimağusa (Famagusta) Walled City or Salamis Forest from waste and contribute to a sustainable world by correctly separating the waste they collect.

It was noted that the EcoHero game can be downloaded for free from Google Play or Apple Store or by scanning the QR code and can be played in Turkish or English.
