Two bodies that were found washed up on the Çatalköy (Agios Epiktitos) beach have been buried yesterday.

The Çatalköy (Agios Epiktitos) – Esentepe (Agios Nikolaos) Municipality Mayor Ceyhun Kırok announced that the two bodies found on the beach were buried in the Esentepe (Agios Nikolaos) cemetery.

Making a statement on his social media account Kırok said, “I am leaving this message to mark this day in history… Today, we witness an ongoing shame against humanity in the world. In a world where there are no winners in wars and those who lose are always innocent people. We have buried two dead bodies that were found washed up on our shores. We do not know who they are but we wish God’s mercy upon those who lost their lives”
