Government requests technical support from YÖK

While investigations continue in line with the ‘fake diploma and bribery’ case in the higher education sector, the government has requested technical support from the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in Türkiye.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel informed the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK) that they have requested technical support from YÖK in Türkiye to examine and follow up the diplomas and noted that the request was well received.
Üstel said, “With the technical support of YÖK, TRNC’s infrastructure will be established. Our universities will record all diploma data within a month, which will date back to 5 years and will have data control. The diploma information that date back further than 5 years will then be put into a software platform.
