Emmanuel Achiri who is one of the founders of VOIS, which is a group of international students in Cyprus, was declared as a ‘Prohibited Immigrant’ in the north of Cyprus.

According to Özgür Gazete, Achiri, who went abroad after completing his education and came back to Cyprus for an official duty with members of the European Parliament, was declared a ‘Prohibited Immigrant’ by police while trying to cross the border over to the north of Cyprus.

Making a statement on his social media account, Achiri said that he, his friends, and his lawyers, discovered that his entry ban into the north of Cyprus was due to political activities and stated that the entry ban had not been officially announced by authorities.
