X-rays at seaports not working

It has been reported that X-ray scanners at North Cyprus seaports have not been working for a while, as the police detected after 7 months into Mehmet Tayfun Selvi’s arrest that he had smuggled guns and bullets into the country through the Girne (Kyrenia) Port.

According to Diyalog Gazetesi, it was discovered that there are no X-ray scanners at the Girne (Kyrenia) Port.
A customs officer at the Gazimağusa (Famagusta) Port also said that the X-ray scanner had not been working for a long time.
Officials have said that inspections of suitcases and parcels are being carried out with manpower, yet it is not possible with trucks and tractors.
