33-year-old arrested in Famagusta for drug and money laundering


 

A 33-year-old man in the province of Famagusta arrested for drug and money laundering yesterday.

According to a police statement, members of the YKAN Famagusta, with the help of members of the OPE Famagusta, yesterday conducted a search with a court warrant at the home of a 33 year old man.

When the members of the Police entered the house , the 33-year-old threw a plastic bag containing one gram of cannabis on the ground, while he also threw a plastic bag containing one gram of cocaine out the window.

Another nylon bag with cannabis weighing one gram was also found in his possession, as well as the sum of €235, for which he did not give satisfactory explanations as to its origin.

Also, in a search made near the suspect’s house, where he was previously seen moving, a nylon package containing 140 grams of cannabis, 111 nylon packages containing one gram of cannabis each, eight nylon packages containing one gram each of cocaine and 36 ecstasy pills.

All the items found were confiscated as evidence, while the 33-year-old was arrested and taken into custody to facilitate investigations.

YKAN (Provincial Level of Famagusta) continues the investigation.
