Paphos village Psathi evacuated due to wildfire

The village of Psathi was evacuated on Tuesday as a wildfire raged in the Paphos district.
The fire ignited in an area of dry grass and low vegetation, though its exact cause is yet to be determined. Nine fire engines from Paphos responded to the blaze, with a firefighting aircraft assisting by spraying water.
As the fire intensified, three helicopters—one from the National Guard and two from Jordan—were dispatched to aid in the efforts. Police are on-site in case further evacuations are needed.
The fire has reached the entrance of Psathi and is dangerously approaching the neighbouring village of Agios Dimitrios.
