Heatstroke kills again

The health ministry announced on Sunday that an 84-year-old Nicosia resident passed away on Saturday afternoon from heatstroke. The woman, who was admitted to the main hospital in Nicosia on Friday, is the second person to pass away from heatstroke during the most recent heatwave to hit the island.

Three patients—two men and one woman—are receiving treatment for heatstroke symptoms at the Nicosia General Hospital right now. It is reported that the three of them are seriously ill.
