National Council to convene next week


 

The National Council will convene next Friday following Greek Cypriot Leader Nikos Christodoulides’ meeting with the UN Secretary General’s personal envoy Maria Angela Holguin in Brussels.

Christodoulides has met with Maria Angela Holguin, the UN Secretary-General’s special representative, in Brussels on Thursday .
In his statements to the press following the meeting, he described the meeting as “very productive and special,” and announced that he will call the National Council to convene upon his return to Cyprus.

Meanwhile, Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar is in London to attend the 7th Turkish Cypriot Cultural Festival.

During his time in the UK, he is also set to meet with Holguin. Tatar is expecting to return on Monday.
