Buse becomes Türkiye Champion for 3rd time


 

Elite athlete Buse Savaşkan has become Türkiye champion for the 3rd time in the Women’s High Jump category.

The competition period, which started on July 1, 2023, to determine the athletes that will participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics, has been completed. Buse Savaşkan representing North Cyprus, became Türkiye Champion in the Women’s High Jump category with a degree of 1.81, despite having an unfortunate injury to her left ankle.
The athletes participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics will be officially announced on Tuesday, July 2 and Buse’s situation will also be announced on the same day.

North Cyprus representative Buse Savaşkan is in 26th place with 1201 points.

The Athletics Federation delegation consisting of 15 coaches and athletes, who went to Izmir for the U16 and U18 Turkish Championships to be held on July 1-2, also supported Buse at the Atatürk Stadium. Meanwhile, Sports Department Director Mustafa Sütcü, Athletics Federation officials, and the sporting press were also present supporting Buse during the race.
