One detained for violating military zone after crossing from South to North!


 

According to Kamalı News an individual (A.A) was caught shortly after illegally crossing to North Cyprus violating the military restricted zone from South Cyprus, and was taken to the Lefkoşa (Nicosia) District Court.
Demirhan Police sergeant Hüseyin Ergüleç conveyed information at the court hearing and said that the suspect was caught shortly after crossing to North Cyprus via the military restricted zone from South Cyprus at around half past midnight on July 1, 2024.
During immigration control it was detected that the suspect had entered the North illegally. The suspect, in his statement said that he lived in South Cyprus and wanted to return to his country in Syria.
Following a police enquiry it was found that the suspect had no identification and that they were launching an investigation to learn if his real name was Abdulaziz Abbas.
The police officer requested that the suspect be detained for 3 days for further enquires which was approved by Judge Jale Ergüden.
