Increase in property sales to foreigners


 

It has been reported that from January 2021 to August 2023, the North Cyprus government granted 6,958 foreigners the right to purchase real estate from the northern part of Cyprus.

According to the news of Yenidüzen newspaper, in comparison to 2019 with a total of 1141 foreigners receiving permission to purchase, the amount of people buying property by August 2023, almost half a year has increased to 2,969.

Official data reveals that the number of foreigners granted the right to acquire immovable property by the Council of Ministers, especially since November 2021, has increased significantly compared to previous years.

AN INCREASE IN THE RUSSIAN AND IRANIAN POPULATION

Meanwhile, according to information obtained from both the Interior Ministry and the real estate sector, it was noted that as of 2022, the ratio of Turkish citizens who have the right to acquire real estate has decreased, while the ratio of Russians and Iranians has increased.
