The 21st Int NC Music Festival starts Sep 15th


 

The 21st North Cyprus International Music Festival which will be held within the scope of the North Cyprus Music Association begins on September 15th.

According to a statement by the association, this year’s festival, which will host 12 different concerts at the Ancient Theatre of Salamis and Bellapais Monastery, will continue until 6th November.

Composer, and handpan artist Baran Yıldız, from Australia, will take part in the Presidential Symphony Orchestra (TRNC PSO) opening concert as a soloist. The concert that is set to take place at the Bellapais Abbey on September 15 will be conducted by Ali Hoca.

International Music Festival programme:

September 25, World renowned pianist and composer Fazıl Say and Genco Erkal – the maestro theatre star will be on stage performing “Nazım’s Poems and tunes by Say ” at the Ancient Theatre of Salamis.

September 26, World-famous Polish virtuoso Krzysztof Meisinger, will perform Piazzolla’s recitals as a conductor and a soloist.

October 4, Mezzo-soprano Oksana Donika, cellist Susanna Orçan, and pianist Irina Akkök will be performing together at Bellapais Monastery.

October 11, internationally famous pianist-composer Arman Ratip will be performing one of the most popular themes of potpourri-style improvisations, by composers Paganini-Liszt-Chopin, and his new space music compositions, with a piano recital at the Bellapais Monastery.

October 13, Violinist Deniz Şensoy, who took part as a soloist in the master-class concerts of the legendary violinist Maxim Vengerov and became famous as the “shining star” in Europe, will be taking to the stage as the soloist of the PSO Concert conducted by Ali Hoca and will perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor at the Bellapais Monastery.

October 17, A recital concert will be performed at the Bellapais Monastery by Ankara PSO cello player Yiğit Tan, and a well-known pianist Atakan Sarı, who lives in North Cyprus.

October 19, Ankara State Opera and Ballet Artists soprano Burcu Uyar, tenor Ayhan Uştuk, baritone Gürhan Gürgen, and pianist Esra Poyrazoğlu Alpan will perform a “Narrative Concert” of Verdi’s famous opera La Traviata, which will take place for the first time at the Bellapais Monastery.

October 27, Violinist Ozan Akkol and pianist Ece Sözer will take part at the festival with a program of recitals by famous British composer Edward Elgar at Bellapais Monastery.

October 31, Conducted by Maestro Oskay, and accompanied by the Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality (LTB), the songs of the legendary group “The Beatles” will be performed by soloist Serdar Tuksal at the Bellapais Monastery.

November 3, Well-known Ukrainian soprano Alina Polova and pianist Yuliya Yılmaz will meet with the audience at Bellapais Monastery with an outstanding repertoire that will feature the works of romantic period composers.

November 6, Festival Closing Concert, will take place with a piano recital performed by world-renowned pianist Turkish State Artist Gülsin Onay at the Bellapais Monastery.

Fazıl Say and Genco Erkal Concert, which will take place at the Ancient Theatre of Salamis, is set to begin at the Bellapais Monastery at 9 p.m. Meanwhile, other concerts will begin at 8.30 p.m.

Tickets will be sold at Deniz Plaza stores or online from the Biletfest.com website or at the entrance of the concert.
