Russia’s 2 mobile consulars to serve in North Cyprus


 

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova announced that mobile consular services for Russian citizens have begun in North Cyprus.
Zakharova stated that more than 70 passport applications were received by these units, more than 15 passports were issued, and applications for Russian citizenship for many children were approved.
Speaking to the Moscow Post, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zakharova gave detailed information on the service planned for Russian citizens in North Cyprus. According to the latest data, the number of people who have received consular services is approaching a thousand, Zakharova said and added that citizens who cannot come to the units due to health reasons are provided with the mobile service.
Noting that the status and form of consular work is currently in its development phase, Zakharova said that the issue of providing consular services to Russian citizens living in ‘North Cyprus’ is an issue that needs to be resolved and is well overdue.
Stating that a consular session took place in Lefkoşa (Nicosia) on September 21, Zakharova announced that the next planned session is expected to take place at the end of the month.
