The Hirondel roundabout was removed and has been replaced with new traffic lights, it has been reported.
The aim of the installation of the new traffic lights is to reduce traffic congestion.
The municipality carried out trials following the completion of work on the asphalt and median strips at the Hirondel junction.
The traffic lights are expected to be put into service this morning.
Making a statement on his social media account Girne (Kyrenia) Mayor Murat Şenkul, said “We have started using the Hirondel junction for trial purposes.”
