Tatar & Üstel head to Azerbaijan for TRNC Promotion Day


 

President Ersin Tatar and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, along with a delegation of 200 people, departed from Ercan Airport to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to participate in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Promotion Day event.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, Fikri Ataoğlu, had already travelled to Baku for the same event the day before.

Speaking at Ercan Airport before departing for Baku, President Ersin Tatar said, “We are going to develop our ties with Azerbaijan in terms of education, culture, and the economy,” and emphasizing that the flag of the TRNC will be proudly raised in Azerbaijan.

Tatar pointed out that their visit to Azerbaijan was a first and held importance for the development and consolidation of all kinds of relations.


He expressed his hopes for a successful and beneficial visit. President Tatar also reiterated that they would not engage in official negotiation processes until their sovereign equality and equal international status were recognized.
