Police have announced a list of roads that will be closed and reopened to traffic throughout the country as of 10.30 today.
It has been reported that the Çamlıbel (Myrtou) – Girne (Kyrenia) main road, the Çamlıbel (Myrtou) – Tepebaşı (Dhiorios) junction and Kayalar (Orga) road junction have remained closed due to the overflow of the Geçitköy river.
The Kayalar (Orga) – Sadrazamköy (Livera) main road has also remained closed as the water receded, leaving behind extensive mud, and gravel deposits.
The road on Cumhuriyet Street in Esentepe (Agios Amvrosios) that collapsed after being triggered by heavy rain, will remain closed as vehicles will be diverted to alternative routes through the village.
The connection road of Tuzla village, located on the old Lefkoşa (Nicosia) – Gazimağusa (Famagusta) road that was closed to traffic due to flooding, and the Atlılar (Aloda) – Yıldırım (Milia) and Muratağa (Maratha) – Sandallar (Santalaris) main roads that were affected due to weather conditions have reopened, it has been reported.
