Kormacit Centre for Cooperation ready to host events


 

The opening ceremony of Kormacit Centre for Cooperation took place yesterday.
Funded by the EU, the center was built by the UN Development Programme.

According to a written statement by UNDP and EU Information Centre, Kormacit Centre for Cooperation was established to contribute for the reconciliation and coexistence in a multi-communal environment.

The centre, which had started to be built in September 2021 and financed by the EU for 1 million 238 thousand 506 Euros, was completed in January 2023.

The following information given on the Kormacit Centre for Cooperation:

“Kormacit Centre for Cooperation aims to offer a wide range of programs and learning opportunities, including languages and customs, nature conservation, recycling and agricultural development of organic products.

The Centre will also host events that promote multiculturalism both in Cyprus and beyond. Young artists will have the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents and skills at cultural events.

The centre will also be equipped to provide basic accommodation, food and beverage for groups of up to 60 people.
Meanwhile, olive trees were planted in the garden of the Centre by the Maronites in memory of those who lost their lives in the train accident in Greece and the earthquake that took place in Türkiye and Syria in February 2023.”
