Met Dep: ‘Never rained so much in winter!’


 

The Meteorology Department announced that in the last 24 hours, the Alsancak (Karavas) area in North Cyprus was the most affected by the downpours.

The Department shared the distribution of kilograms per square meter of regions affected by the rain between 8 am and 8 pm on April 9 and 10.

137 km of rain fell in Alsancak (Karavas), 126 km in Selvilitepe (Kyparissovouno), 94 km in Boğaz (Boghazi), 88 km in Çamlıbel (Myrtou), 79 km in Karaoğlanoğlu (Agios Georgios), 75 km in Beylerbeyi (Bellapais), 73 km in Kozanköy (Larnakatis-Lapitos) and Girne (Kyrenia), 58 km in Koruçam (Kormakitis), 36 km Yakın Doğu (Near East), 34 km in Gönyeli (Kioneli) , 29 km in Lefkoşa ( Nicosia) and Alayköy (Gerolakkos), 27 km in Kırıkkale (Melouseia), and 20 km in Ercan.
