No rain expected this week


The Meteorological Department reports that the most rainfall in the last 24 hours was recorded in Değirmenlik with 38 kilograms per square metre. The Department also reports that no rain is expected this week.

Yesterday’s rainfall distribution is as follows:

“Değirmenlik (Kythrea) 38 kg/m², Dipkarpaz (Rizokarpaso) 29 kg/m², Geçitkale (Lefkoniko) 28 kg/m², Akdoğan (Lysi), Akıncılar (Louroujina) 23 kg/m², Ercan 18 kg/m², Salamis 17 kg/m², Beyarmudu (Pergamos) 15 kg/m², Balıkesir (Palaikythro), The State Hatchery 14 kg/m², Kaleburnu (Galinoporni), Kırıkkale (Melouseia), Mehmetçik (Galateia) 12 kg/m², Çayönü (Kalopsida), Serdarlı (Tziaos) 11 kg/m², and in other regions between 0.1 kg/m² and 10 kg/m².”

-Temperature will drop as of mid week

According to the Meteorology report covering the dates of May 7-13, the region is expected to be warm and humid on the first half of the period, with a low-pressure system, and cool and humid in the upper atmosphere in the second half.

Skies are expected to be mostly clear throughout the week with partial clouds over time.

Temperatures will be around 30-33 ºC inland and 26-29 ºC on the coast on the first half of the period, and around 26-29 ºC inland and 22-25 ºC on the coast on the second half.

Winds will generally be northerly and westerly moderate with stronger winds at times.
