A 35-year-old, who was injured in an accident on the Girne-Değirmenlik (Kyrenia-Kythrea) road at around 11 pm yesterday, has died.
According to a police report, driver Uğur DEMİRKOL (M-35) of vehicle register number plate MY 870 who was heading south collided with a vehicle driven by Serhat ÖZEN (M-37), register number TUJ 794 after losing control of the vehicle.
The drivers of vehicles and passengers in the TUJ 794 registered vehicle Valentina OSWALD, Eduard OSWALD, Julia HOFMEISTER, Arthur HOFMEISTER, and Naık HOFMEISTER were taken to the Lefkoşa Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.
Valentina OSWALD, Eduard OSWALD, Julia HOFMEISTER, Arthur HOFMEISTER, and Naık HOFMEISTER were discharged, it has been reported.
Uğur DEMİRKOL, who was admitted to Near East Hospital intensive care unit, could not be saved despite all efforts.
The treatment of the driver of TUJ 794 registered vehicle is still ongoing at the Lefkoşa Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.
An investigation into the accident continues.
