Police patrols have been increased following citizens’ complaints of Carob product thefts. Police patrols have been intensified against Carob thefts especially in the İskele (Trikomo) region as the carob harvest season is nearing.
According to a statement by the Police;
Picking carobs prior to the date determined by district offices was illegal. The police statement also said that legal action will be taken against those who are detected picking carobs before these dates.
The public has also kindly been called to inform the police if they witness any similar incident.
CAROB MANUFACTURERS EXPERIENCING CAROB THEFT PROBLEMS!
According to the Bağımsız news report, carob producers are complaining about thieves picking their carobs before them.
The producers, who are having a hard time, have requested that the district governors and the police take urgent measures against the carob theft.
