Price increase on all medicine imported from Türkiye!

It has been reported that there has been a 30.50% price increase on all medicine that has come from Türkiye to North Cyprus.

Medicines are being sold with the increased prices since July 24.
Speaking to Kıbrıs Postası, Secretary General of the Cyprus Turkish Pharmacists Association, Dicle Tekiner, stated that medicines have been sold at pharmacies with increased prices since July 24th.
Noting that the price increase in medicine in Türkiye was immediately reflected in North Cyprus, Tekiner said that, “Türkiye is dependent on overseas countries for pharmaceutical products. Therefore, the increase in exchange rates has also affected medicine production costs”.

Drawing attention to the medicine problem in the country, Tekiner said, “Updating prices does not solve the medicine problem.”
Tekiner added that it causes a very serious crisis to manufacturer companies producing limited amount of medicine due to the increasing prices.
