Woman under influence of alcohol runs red light, causes accident


 

Woman under the influence of alcohol causes accident in Lefkoşa (Nicosia).

Driver of KRS 596 registered vehicle, Androulla THEODOROU, 51, who was under the influence of 98 milligrams of alcohol, was heading South on 2. Selim Avenue in Lefkoşa (Nicosia) at around 4.45 p.m. yesterday when she ran a red light causing accident at the Ledra Palace traffic lights.

Driver of VM 119 registered vehicle, Coşkun GÜREL, 34, who attempted to cross the green light collided with THEODOROU while heading east on the Memduh Asaf Street.

No injuries were reported following the accident.

Driver THEODOROU has been arrested and an investigation is underway.
