Courses and activities for children


 

The Girne ( Kyrenia) Municipality is organizing many free courses and activities for students during the February holidays.

The activities aim to keep children away from their screen addictions.

The Girne Municipality Social Affairs Branch Manager Serdar Tuksal explained that as the municipality, as they do every year have created a program that will enable students and parents to have fun and learn through sports, cultural and artistic activities during the February holiday.

He stated that their aim is to create alternative activities that will keep children away from their smart electronic devices, which is the disease of the age, during the February holidays.

Tuksal said that the courses and activities covering the 6 to 11 year old age group will be held at the old municipality building, which is now operating as the Social Centre on February 3 4 and 10 – 11. He stated that on February 3, 10 and 17 at 2pm the children’s play “Between Reality and Dreams” will be presented to little theatre lovers at the Girne Municipality Chamber Theatre.

Noting that the free courses and activities will be limited to 20 people and the deadline for participation is January 31st, Tuksal said that citizens who want to register their children for the activities can register by calling 0392815 15 08 and 05391126363 landlines.

The February holiday activity program will include many colourful and fun activities such as jewellery design workshop, ceramic workshop, linoleum printing workshop, bookmark painting workshop, mandala workshop, piggy bank painting workshop, painting and handicraft activity, fairy tale and drama workshop.

He said that the courses and activities will end with a children’s party on February 11 at the Ramadan Cemil Square in Girne.
