Von der Leyen and PoR discuss infrastructure for a maritime aid corridor to Gaza


 

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who has arrived in Cyprus Thursday evening, will have a meeting with the President of the Republic of Cyprus Friday morning, during which the infrastructures related to the planning for the creation of a maritime corridor for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza from Cyprus will be discussed.
Christodoulides will receive the President of the European Commission at at the Presidential Palace.
They will then visit Larnaca port and the facilities of the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC), in order to inspect the existing infrastructure for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, in the context of the opening of a maritime humanitarian corridor. They will then make statements to the Media.
On the evening of 7 March, President Christodoulides hosted a dinner for von der Leyen at the Presidential Palace.
Christodoulides and von der Leyen had traveled to the island together on 7 March following their participation at the EEP Congress in Bucharest.
A press release from the Presidency says that Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis and Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna also attended the dinner.
