Gazimağusa Police Chief detained for 3 more days!


 

Gazimağusa (Famagusta) Police Chief Barış Sel who appeared in the Lefkoşa (Nicosia) District Court yesterday within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Department of Financial Crimes, has been detained for three more days.
During the investigation, it was determined that Barış Sel graduated with a master of business administration degree by forging his course grades.
According to the investigation officer, following examinations of the university system records, it was detected that the suspect’s registration had been retrodated to January 18, 2023, his 9-course grades were casually added into the system, and the system showed that he had submitted his thesis although he didn’t.

REFIKER AND AVCIL TO BE DETAINED FOR 6 MORE DAYS

Meanwhile, the Güzelyurt District Court ordered a 6-day detention for the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK) Secretary General Derviş Refiker, and Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar’s bodyguard police officer Şerif Avcil, who were arrested within the scope of the investigation carried out at Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (KSTU).
