Morphou and Myrtou breaks new heat record of 49 years!

Middle Eastern countries, including Cyprus, are affected by dust storms carried over from North Africa.
Dust storms are expected to be effective in the country for another 4-5 days, while yesterday was reported to be the hottest month (April) in Güzelyurt (Morphou) and Çamlıbel (Myrtou) in 49 years.
“Dusty skies will be diminished on Saturday but will increase again on Sunday. Dust clouds are expected to be effective for another 4-5 days” Meteorology Department Director Sinan Güneş was reported as saying.
Stating that clouds of dust have blown over a wide area, Güneş noted that many countries in the Middle East, such as Greece and Turkey, are also affected.
As there will be no rain in the coming days, Güneş indicated that temperatures will continue to be 10 degrees above average.
