Triathlon and motorcycle drag races will be held on Sunday on the İskele (Trikomo) – Karpaz (Karpasia) main road.
According to a police report, the roads will be closed to traffic between 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sunday.
The motorcycle drag race will be held by the Turkish Cypriot Motorcycle Association on the road between the Çayırova (Agios Theodoros) Circle and the Senmar Supermarket Circle on the İskele (Trikomo) – Karpaz (Karpasia) main road.
Meanwhile, the Triathlon races (swimming, cycling, running) organized by the Turkish Cypriot Triathlon Federation which will be taking place from 6 a.m. – 12 p.m. will be held on the road between the Long Beach Circle and İskele (Trikomo) Circle (Salamis Circle, Ötüken Circle, Granel Circle) on the İskele – Karpaz main road.
The route between the Çayırova Circle and Senmar Supermarket Circle will be closed in both directions between the specified times on Sunday. Diversions will be provided via the Çayırova (Agios Theodoros) village.
Cyclists will be escorted by police during the triathlon race that will be held on the Long Beach route. A warning of possible occasional traffic congestion has been issued.
Drivers have been urged to abide by traffic signs and drive slowly and cautiously for safety reasons.
