El-Sen warns of cutting off Ercan’s electricity if debt worth 92 million TL not paid by Friday

The Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority Employees Union (El-Sen) announced that they will be cutting off Ercan Airport’s electricity if the debt of 92 million TL is not paid by Friday.

In a written statement, El-Sen President Ahmet Tuğcu called on political parties, non-governmental organizations, unions and citizens who share the same view, to be at the Meriç Substation at the entrance of Meriç village at 11 a.m. on Friday.

Reminding that the electricity of citizens with a debt of 675 TL was immediately cut off, Tuğcu said that the KIB-TEK administration did not cut off Ercan Airport’s electricity, which is operated by the T&T Company under the management of Emrullah Turanlı.

“We warn the KIB-TEK administration to put an end to this injustice that wounds the conscience of the people.” Tuğcu was cited as saying.
