Lokmaci drug related arrests!


 

Four arrests took place yesterday following three separate police raids in Gazimağusa (Famagusta) and Lefkoşa (Nicosia) by the Prevention of Smuggling and Narcotics team.
A 20 year old, who crossed from the south to the north via the Lokmaci crossing point (Ledra) was detected with 1,100 kg of cannabis drugs following a raid (Geçit Yok Operasyonu) and arrested yesterday. Another 20 year old, believed to have links into the incident has also been arrested and an investigation is continuing.
Yesterday at around 3.15 pm in the Çanakkale region of Gazimağusa (Famagusta), a 24-year-old was caught and following a search at his home was detected with a cannabis type drug weighing approximately 35 grams and a sensitive scale and taken as evidence by the police. Also, yesterday at around 8:30 pm during a police operation a 27-year-old in the Çanakkale region of Gazimağusa (Famagusta) was detected with drugs in his vehicle. Following a search at his residence approximately 60 grams, believed to be cannabis type drug, was found and confiscated.
The person in question has been arrested and an investigation continues.
