13 suspects arrested during racist riots in Limassol face serious charges


 

The charges that 13 people arrested during racist riots in Limassol last week will appear at the Assize court due to the seriousness of the cases .

The Office of the Attorney General decided to escalate the case by directly referring it to the Assize Court. The serious charges brought against the 13 individuals central to the controversy.
The 13 suspects, aged from 16 to 50, will stand trial in October. They charged with conspiring to commit a crime, rioting, racism, xenophobia and intentionally causing damage and harm.
On Wednesday 11 out of the 13 individuals were released from custody, with travel restrictions imposed. One individual, previously under house arrest, has been remanded back to central prisons, awaiting the trial’s commencement.
