PM Üstel says NC property sales to foreigners not high!

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said that the number of properties sold to foreigners in North Cyprus is not at a concerning level.

Responding to criticisms put forward by the opposition parties at the General Assembly of the Parliament, Üstel attributed the motion of the country’s economy to the work done by contractors and the effects of these works on tourism.

Üstel responded to the statement made by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), “Our eyes are on North Cyprus and the Council of Ministers”, following allegations of property sales in North Cyprus.

Üstel reminded that the purchase of properties by foreigners increased rapidly in North Cyprus after the 2004 Annan Plan, and that after the recession, all the governments that came to power made efforts to revitalize the sector.
