The Bi-Communal Peace Initiative will march to the Home for Cooperation located at the buffer zone in Lefkoşa (Nicosia) on Saturday, demanding the opening of new crossing points.
Officials from the Initiative will hold a press conference on the issue today.
Providing information to the Turkish News Agency (TAK) on behalf of the Bi-Communal Peace Initiative, Şener Elcil said that the Bi-Communal Peace Initiative, consisting of several Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot political parties, trade unions and non-governmental organizations, will walk to the Home for Cooperation opposite the UN-controlled Ledra Palace Hotel in Lefkoşa (Nicosia) and hold a protest on Saturday, 27 May.
Elcil said that the Turkish Cypriot Organisations will meet at the Lokmaci/Ledra crossing point at 9.45 am and march to the Home for Cooperation and demand for the “opening of new border crossings, the easing of transactions at crossing points and reuniting Cyprus within the framework of a bicommunal, bi-zonal federation”.
