CTP and AKEL are establishing joint working groups


 

The bi-communal committee formed by the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) and AKEL held its first meeting yesterday (Thursday).

The meeting held at the AKEL Headquarters was chaired by CTP Secretary General Asım Akansoy and Tomazos Çelebis from the AKEL party. CTP deputies, board members and AKEL executives also attended the meeting.

JOINT WORKING GROUPS ARE BEING ESTABLISHED

A decision was taken to form joint working groups in the field of energy, economy, health, education, environment and ecology during the meeting attended by CTP Secretary General Asım Akansoy and AKEL Cyprus Desk Officer Tomazos Çelebis.

The Committee also reached a consensus on the establishment of working groups for confidence-building measures that will support a bi-zonal, bi-communal politically equal federation, current issues and a federation negotiation process.

The working groups will hold meetings periodically and will focus on cooperation and producing common views by sharing the outcome of their work with the party headquarters.
