Drugs worth around 1.5 million Turkish Lira were seized in a large-scale special police operation in Girne, it has been reported.
According to Diyalog, drug sales were carried out between the North and South of Cyprus via Telegram application.
The system allows the seller and the buyer to trade drugs without seeing each other, the ringleader of the network can also hide himself.
Pictures and coordinates of the places where the drugs are being left are sent via Telegram to the buyers. The buyer then goes to the picking-up point and collects the drugs. This way the buyer and seller never see each other.
