Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that Ercan Airport has come to the point where it has the largest passenger capacity, on the island.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the new airport terminal building, Erdoğan said that the airport will contribute to North Cyprus to be a brand in the region.
Erdoğan also urged the international community to lift political restrictions on Turkish Cypriots that have no legal background.
The Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar also addressed the international community during his speech and called for an end to the injustice committed against the Turkish Cypriots in terms of freedom of travel.
