The proceedings and recent developments of the Immovable Property Commission (IPC) were discussed at a high-level meeting held at the Office of the President under the chairmanship of Ersin Tatar.
Attending the meeting, were Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, the Turkish Ambassador to Nicosia Metin Feyzioğlu, the Commander of the Turkish Peace Forces in Cyprus Major General Sebahattin Kılınç, the Commander of the Cyprus Turkish Security Forces Major General Osman Aytaç, the Minister of Interior Dursun Oğuz, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, the Chief Prosecutor Sarper Altıncık, IPC Chairman Növber Ferit Veçhi, and other high-ranking officials.
Növber Ferit Veçhi, provided the attendees with updates on the commission’s work and activities since its establishment on March 17, 2006, recognized as a domestic legal remedy by international law.
Speaking during the meeting, Tatar acknowledged the significant achievements of the IPC and stated that applications were being swiftly evaluated and settled.
He underscored the importance of commencing payments for properties evaluated before the end of 2020, emphasizing the anticipated increase in applications to the commission.
