No trust in the government!


The public has no trust towards the government among other institutions in North Cyprus. Next in line is the presidency, parliament and political parties following a survey of 500 people conducted in March 2024 by the Center for Immigration Identity and Rights Studies.
THE MAJOR PROBLEM IS THE ECONOMY
Participants of the survey said that the biggest problem was “economic problems”.
According to the survey, 59.13 per cent of the public forecast that their financial situation will be worse in the next 2 years.
Economic problems, inflation, incompetent political leaders, the Cyprus problem, low salaries, high living costs and corruption are among the most important problems in the country.
According to the participants, the happiness score of the society decreased in March 2024, reaching 5.94 out of 10, while the liveability score in the north of Cyprus was again 5.50 out of 10.

HEALTH RECEIVED LOWEST SCORE
‘Health’ received the lowest score according to the Good Governance Barometer (GGB) used worldwide.
Along with Health, the transparency of state decisions, the accountability of those who govern us, the justified distribution of income, Environment, Education, living without discrimination…
THE MOST TRUSTED INSTITUTION IS THE JUDICIARY
The most trusted institutions according to the survey, are the judiciary, the police and the media, respectively.
