Pharmacists marched on Monday to defend their reputation which was tarnished following the prescription forgery investigation, and to also have their voice heard for those having problems accessing medicine, it has been reported.
Pharmacists marched to the Parliament under the rain, in defense of their honour.
Head of the Pharmacists Association, Umut Öksüz said that pharmacists were publicly executed without trial and were imprisoned side by side with those who commit crimes.
Öksüz said that pharmacists who were arrested are being victimized, as their bank accounts have been blocked. He added that even if citizens living in villages were able to have access to medicines, they were still having problems finding pharmacists who could carry out transactions with the Social Security Department.
Minister of Labour Sadık Gardiyanoğlu and Minister of Health Hakan Dinçyürek, were protested by the pharmacists. Gardiyanoğlu announced that a new system will be implemented within a week to prevent patients covered by insurance from being victimized.
