According to the Turkish Cypriot Public Servants Union (KTAMS), the hunger limit for a family of 4 has been determined as 23 thousand 559 TL. The hunger line, which has increased by 2 thousand 626 since the beginning of the year, remains 441 TL below the minimum wage.
The mandatory food expenditure that an adult female must spen d in order to have a healthy diet is 201 TL per day, 6 thousand 45 TL per month, and 211 TL per day and 6 thousand 331 TL per month for an adult male. The total expenditure of a family of 4 has been determined as 785 TL per day.
Meanwhile, experts say that it is essential to consume fruits regularly every day for a healthy diet. However, this is a problem as there is an excessive price hike in fruit consumption.
Fruit prices are rising day by day. The price of bananas increased to 60 TL and the price of apricots increased to 260 TL.
While the price of nectarine rose to 120 TL per kilo, the price of cherries reached 330 TL and strawberries reached 130 TL.
