A 10-year-old student suspected of participating in vandalism at Livadia Primary School, on Saturday afternoon, is scheduled to appear at the Voroklini Police Station today with his parents to provide a statement.
Spiros Chrysostomou, spokesperson for the Larnaca Police Directorate, stated, “There is evidence implicating a 10-year-old, who has been summoned to testify today at the Voroklini Police Station alongside his parents.”
Chrysostomou also noted that the ongoing police investigation suggests additional suspects may have been involved in the incident at Livadia Primary School and efforts are being made to locate them.
According to Chrysostomou, the unidentified vandals allegedly damaged the school’s outdoor facilities by setting fire to benches and a table, and a classroom window was broken. After gaining entry, they reportedly scattered books, notebooks, and other school materials across the floor.
“The statement from the 10-year-old will be taken, and all appropriate authorities involved with juvenile cases will be notified,” Chrysostomou continued.
He concluded by emphasizing the police’s ongoing efforts to identify and locate other parties who might be involved in the vandalism, asserting that the damage extent suggests that it was unlikely to be the work of a single child.
