27 Turkish Cypriot evacuees from Gaza reach Istanbul

As Israel’s attacks on Gaza continue, the evacuation of Turkish Cypriots from the region is underway.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday that 27 TRNC citizens who were evacuated from the Rafah Border Crossing to Egypt on Saturday have arrived in Istanbul via Cairo.

“Coordination and cooperation with the authorities of the Republic of Türkiye continue to ensure the safe and prompt evacuation of our citizens remaining in conflict areas from the region,” the statement read.

The Foreign Minister in collaboration with the Turkish Foreign Minister launched efforts earlier this month to evacuate Turkish Cypriots residing permanently or temporarily in Gaza as the war between Hamas and Israel entered its 8th week
