A 45-year-old man, who surrendered to the British Bases yesterday evening, has confessed to the murder of 52-year-old Charalambos Constantinides at a car repair shop in Ormideia.
The suspect appeared before the Dhekelia Base Court, represented by a Cypriot lawyer. The court has remanded him in custody for eight days.
During the court hearing, it was revealed that the murder took place after 10 pm on Tuesday night. A citizen reported hearing two gunshots and witnessed the victim lying in a pool of blood, with the suspect nearby.
An autopsy conducted by a coroner confirmed that the victim had sustained gunshot wounds and multiple bruises. The cause of death was recorded as head trauma. The court also noted that the murder weapon had been found.
